The Interreg North West Europe funded eMEN project organises several international thematic seminars about the implementation of e-mental health. In the past decade we have seen that successful implementation of e-mental health technology has been very challenging, as many different factors must be taken into account…at the same time!
This first seminar in the Netherlands focuses on Privacy, Quality and Technical challenges. The focus will be on the practical implementation process. In addition, this seminar will pay special attention to the (international) discussion about costs effective evaluation methods for e-mental health applications.
Both national and international speakers will share their knowledge and insights with us. Specials guest speakers are: Dr. Victoria Betton founder and Director of Mhabitat (partnership of the NHS Foundation Trust), Dr. Marilyn Lennon senior Lecturer in Human Computer Interaction form the University of Strathclyde and Evert Hoogendoorn, strategist and game designer at IJsfontein
Attendance to the seminar is free of charge. Advanced registration is required. See below.
Location:Hilton Hotel Amsterdam, Apollolaan 138, 1077 BG, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Innovative and high-quality e-mental health plays an important role in tackling mental health challenges.
However, there are large regional differences in the EU with regard to the use of e-mental health products, for prevention and treatment. With relatively higher use in the Netherlands and lower use in France. eMEN is the first project of its kind with a specific focus on large scale implementation of e-mental health. This will directly contribute to the region’s economic performance and innovation capacity: reducing healthcare costs, better care and access to prevention and treatment and increased growth of eHealth SMEs. With eMEN we are also addressing the high unmet mental health needs in the EU (on average of 6.8%).
In order to promote implementation, a first-of-its-kind, EU-wide platform for e-mental health innovation and implementation will be formed by private and public partners in North West Europe. The eMEN platform promotes more affordable, accessible, effective and empowering mental health. The platform will organise product innovation, development, testing, implementation and (practical) knowledge exchange.
Project partners are key stakeholders in the field of e-mental health and have a broad EU network. They will address the following multidisciplinary e-mental health implementation challenges:
- Product quality (CE, ‘look & feel’, data protection)
- Cooperation with SMEs
- Assessing clinical effectiveness (duration and costs of RCTs)
- Acceptance by professionals
- Lack of awareness and/or confidence
- High start up costs
- Fragmented legal and policy framework
- Training and curricula development
- Lack of implementation protocols
- Link with integrated digital healthcare systems
Join our seminar on July 11th and become an eMEN platform member and participate in our international endeavour towards better accessible, affordable and high quality mental health services for all citizens. All free of charge!
This project is financed by the Interreg North West Europe programme of the European Commission.
